LM-Dental™ products with RFID intelligence inside

LM-ErgoSense handle: Intelligent Design, Built Into Every Instrument

LM‑Dental has taken instrument development a step further by integrating RFID technology directly into the instrument handle. This innovation eliminates the need for external tags or retrofitting, creating a seamless, durable, and clinically optimized solution where traceability is built into the instrument itself.

From Passive Tool to Smart Asset

Each instrument can be ordered either with or without an integrated RFID chip. With an RFID chip embedded in the handle, each instrument becomes a uniquely identifiable asset that can be automatically tracked throughout its entire lifecycle. The chip enables fast, wireless identification without line-of-sight scanning, allowing instruments to be registered, monitored, and managed effortlessly within daily workflows.

Connected to the LM Dental Tracking System (LM DTS™), RFID-enabled instruments provide real-time visibility into location, usage, and status. This transforms traditionally manual, time-consuming processes into automated and reliable workflows.

Designed for Clinical Reality

The integration of the RFID chip is engineered to fully match the demands of dental environments. The instrument maintains the same ergonomics, balance, and usability as standard LM instruments, while also withstanding repeated cleaning, disinfection, and sterilization processes without compromising performance or hygiene.

Because the intelligence is embedded directly into the handle, there are no additional components that could detach, wear out, or interfere with clinical use.

All the LM extraction instruments – LM-LiftOut, LM-SlimLift, LM-TwistOut and LM-RootOut – are available with integrated RFID.

Extending Traceability to Instrument Sets

To further support efficient workflows, LM‑Dental has extended RFID integration beyond individual instruments to instrument cassettes.

The LM‑Servo E cassette series combines safety, hygiene, and intelligent functionality in a seamless clinical solution. Its ergonomic and easy-to-use design incorporates safety shields that protect instrument tips while reducing the risk of sharps injuries during handling and reprocessing.

LM‑Servo E cassettes can be ordered either with or without an integrated LM DTS™ RFID chip. When equipped with RFID, the cassette becomes a smart asset, enabling instruments to be handled, identified, and tracked efficiently as complete sets. This simplifies daily routines, reduces manual handling, and improves overall workflow efficiency.

The cassette design ensures that instrument handles remain clearly visible, supporting reliable RFID readability and identification of individual instruments within the set, while the tips are securely covered by safety shields. This combination enables both safe handling and accurate tracking without compromise.

By making it possible to track instruments at both individual and set level, RFID-enabled LM‑Servo E cassettes further enhance traceability, inventory control, and process reliability—bringing greater transparency and efficiency to instrument management across the clinic.
